FALL / WINTER GROOMING REMINDERS

• Leaves & Pollen:  This time of year, leaves can get caught in excess fur around your dog’s feet, hind end, and tail.  A Mini Groom includes trimming around all of these areas.
• Ear Plucking:  This can greatly reduce the occurrence of ear infections in certain breeds (Shih tzus, Bichons, Schnauzers, etc.)
• Sanitary:  Keeping the sanitary area clean and free of debris reduces the risk of urinary tract infections and “diaper rash.”
• Double-coated Breeds:  Regular grooming of double-coating breeds (Goldens, Aussies, Chows, Shepherds, Collies, Newfies, Great Pyranees, etc.) will prevent excess build-up of their winter coat which reduces shedding and matting.
• Matting:  Leaving your dog’s coat to grow free in the cooler months can lead to matting which is painful and bad for the coat and skin.

Shed-Less Treatment
The Shed-Less treatment can greatly reduce the amount of shedding your dog experiences any time of year. We use specially formulated shampoos and conditioners that loosen your dog’s undercoat. Then our grooming staff gently rakes away the dead, fluffy hair leaving the healthy topcoat in place. This process can be a terrific alternative to shaving your dog because the topcoat and guard hairs protect from the elements, insulate from the cold, and actually help keep your dog cool in the summer. The Shed-Less treatment can be added to any grooming package.
